True refrigeration heritage since 1945.
True’s refrigeration heritage began in 1945, when Bob Trulaske, his father Frank, and later his brother Art developed a refrigeration business from the family’s home on Lenox Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Early products included commercial upright freezers and roll-top bottle coolers. In 1948, 7UP became an important early customer for True’s roll-top bottle coolers, helping expand the company’s commercial refrigeration business. True’s current company location is O’Fallon, Missouri.
True expanded over the decades into commercial foodservice and beverage refrigeration. In 2008, the company launched its first-generation residential refrigeration line, bringing its commercial refrigeration background into products designed specifically for the home. In 2015, True introduced The True 42, its first full-size residential refrigerator, expanding beyond the undercounter residential products launched earlier. In 2025, True Manufacturing partnered with Caliber, creating the broader True Caliber residential portfolio while True Residential continues as the refrigeration side of the brand.
